The 27th Edition Istanbul Theater Festival

THE 27TH EDITION OF ISTANBUL THEATER FESTIVAL IS TO START OFF ON OCTOBER 25-26 WITH "CAFÉ MÜLLER" TO BE STAGED WITH THE CONTRIBUTION OF MEY|DIAGEO!

Mey|Diageo, a great supporter of culture and arts, continues to provide support with the opening show of the 27th edition of Istanbul Theater Festival held by Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (IKSV)! The festival is to start off with the immortal masterpiece "Café Müller" by Pina Bausch, which is to be staged with the contributions of Mey|Diageo. Redefined the dance through a revolutionary approach in the 20th century and helped dance theater to be accepted as a new genre, the masterpiece by Bausch is to be staged for the first time in Türkiye at Zorlu PSM on October 25-26, by the current troupe of the artist Tanztheater Wuppertal, and is to be as impressive as it was the first time it was staged.

Acting by being aware of taking over a legacy of 150 years and believing in the importance of culture and arts on our lives Mey|Diageo continues to contribute to the sustainability of arts through the support it provides to different branches of art.

The 27th edition of Istanbul Theater Festival, held by IKSV, is to start off at Zorlu PSM Turkcell Stage, on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 21.00, with "Café Müller". As part of the festival, this immortal masterpiece of Pina Bausch is to be staged for the first time in Türkiye, by the current troupe of the artist Tanztheater Wuppertal, under the show co-sponsorship of Mey|Diageo and Yatirim Finansman Menkul Değerler A.S., and is to be as impressive as it was the first time it was staged. Combining the mastery of the legendary choreographer Pina Bausch, who inspired not only art lovers from all over the world, but also numberless artists, from Almodovar to Robert Wilson, in reading human soul with her revolutionary approach, "Café Müller" is a simple yet impressive dance theater telling the story of passion and loneliness.

After the opening night, "Café Müller" will be staged once again at 19.00 and 21.00 on Thursday, October 26, 2023. The film "Pina" by Wim Wenders is going to be screened free of charge at Vestel Amfi, before these three performances.
