The İsmet Ay Stage, named after the esteemed figure of Turkish theater, cinema, and television from Şile, İsmet Ay, was brought back to life as part of the 35th International Şile Bezi Culture and Art Festival. Thanks to the efforts of Şile Mayor Özgür Kabadayı, the İsmet Ay Stage reopened after a long hiatus, with a meaningful panel discussion and a spectacular theater performance supported by Mey|Diageo. Veteran artists Haldun Dormen, Müjdat Gezen, and Mustafa Alabora participated in a special panel moderated by Banu Zeytinoğlu, where they discussed İsmet Ay’s artistic contributions and his impact on Şile. Following the panel, the stage was once again graced with theater, as the play Bir Baba Hamlet, starring Şevket Çoruh and Günay Karacaoğlu, was performed, marking the well-deserved return of the İsmet Ay Stage to the theatrical scene.
