Fast Company /GASTRONOMY VILLAGE BRINGS HOPE TO SAMANDAĞ

The Foundation for the Support of Women’s Work (KEDV) and Mey|Diageo, with the support of the Samandağ Municipality, have begun efforts to transform Hatay's Samandağ district, which was severely damaged in the February 6 earthquake, into a tourism destination led by women. The new project aims to revitalize and enrich the gastronomy village, which was rented from the municipality by the Samandağ Women's Cooperative and was damaged in the earthquake, making it sustainable. Samandağ Mayor Emrah Karaçay, Mey|Diageo General Manager Bahar Uçanlar, and Oxfam KEDV President Şengül Akçar stated that their priority for the Samandağ Gastronomy Village is to provide training to local women under the Lifelong Learning Program and integrate them into the workforce.
