Cem Adrian has introduced his new album “CEM”, which he describes as a salute and respect to a unique culture with works ranging from Aşık Veysel to Pir Sultan Abdal, and from Ahmet Yurt to Nesimi. In this fourth album of his folk music series, “Seçkiler - Essentials 4 / CEM”, Adrian is accompanied by Gökhan Kılıç on the three-stringed cura. The album, which supports the sustainability of culture and art by demonstrating the truth that art changes human life, is available on YouTube/cemadrian and all digital music platforms, thanks to the contributions of Mey|Diageo.
While Cem Adrian performs countless concerts across Turkey and abroad, he continues to share the songs and albums he records with his fans amid his busy tour schedule. In his 20th year of music career, Adrian, who has a large international fan base, not only presents his own compositions but also offers unique interpretations of beloved folk songs through the “Seçkiler – Essentials” album series.
In the fourth album of the series, “Seçkiler - Essentials 4 / CEM”, Adrian pays homage and respect to a unique culture with works extending from Aşık Veysel to Pir Sultan Abdal and from Ahmet Yurt to Nesimi. Cem Adrian, accompanied by Gökhan Kılıç’s three-stringed cura (dede bağlaması), interprets the works Ötme Bülbül, Çeke Çeke, Dağlara Küstüm, Şu Kanlı Zalimin, Ervah-I Ezel, Eşrefoğlu, Beni Hor Görme, Ben Melanet Hırkasını, Yârim Derdini Bana Ver, and Kara Toprak while staying true to the essence of the culture. The album, which Adrian produced himself, was recorded using the live recording technique at Midas’ın Kulaklığı Studios in Ankara, with sound engineering by Erkan Tatoğlu, preserving the "instant and live" feel of all the tracks.
